The pub had a very good friendly ambiance and entertainment in the evening. The food in the hotel was of a very good quality
We waited over 40 mins to be booked in as no one knew how to do it and the owner had gone home (30 minutes from hotel) We were given keys for the wrong type of room that we had booked and it had not been serviced (17.30hrs!) On the second night we (and most of the other diners) waited over an hour for our order to be taken even though the owner kept coming into the dining room to move tables and chairs around.
The staff were very relaxed and helpful, and seemed to genuine;y like dogs!
Food was OK but not exciting; the room was cramped but comfortable; the television didn't work and the radiuo had no reception either!
Fantastic location rob roy room was gorgeous and food was great too
Excellent location to explore beautiful surrounding area in Perthshire - warm welcome with friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful wood pannelled dining room with impressive antler chandeliers create warm and inviting atmosphere for eating. Bedrooms tastefully furnished and very comfortable.
Menu in the dining room was too big - trying to cater too widely. Would prefer less choice and better quality.
Very relaxed atmosphere. Staff very all very nice and helpful. Food was excellent and very afforable. It was nice to see a public bar too.
Everyone was very welcoming. The hotel is relaxed - not over fussy- and comfortable. The views are spectacular. Food was well presented and good. The staff were very helpful.
Breakfast on the Sunday was not as relaxed as on the Saturday - a lack of staff and a large party arriving down at the same time as us meant delays and mixed up orders. Fresh fruit would have been good at breakfast - dried apricots and prunes seemed an odd selection but the cooked breakfasts were excellent.
Small, comfortable, friendly, country hotel - food and wine excellent - perfect location
Beds too hard and pillows too small and thin
We enjoyed our stay at the Dunalastair Hotel - it was great to stay at a relaxed, friendly hotel in a great location. Our room was comfortable and plenty of comfortable places to sit and relax in the hotel.
Very welcoming. Service prompt & efficient, with friendly staff. Hotel has retained a sense of tradition.
Could and did get noisy at times, I would not again use any rooms on the road side to the entrance,
The log fire, grand building
Old tv, tired looking room, plumbing
I like the area, as I have been there many times before
The food was bland and tasteless, I am still trying to find the peppercorns in my sauce
Evening food was nice
The bedding was cumbersome to take off each night eg bolsters, cushions and very heavy bedspread, which were not necessary
We found the rooms to be clean and tidy, the double bed was very cumfy. Breakfast was delicious everything you will need to keep you going till dinner. The dining room was typical of a Highland retreat it added to the feel good factor in getting away for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay and will be going back. The location was central to some scenic walks and mountain climbing which was our purpose for our visit.
The food whilst edible was overpriced. The Stables Bar is a hole of a place. Do not go here for a relaxing or romantic week-end break - you will be disappointed.
